Welcome aboard the Greg Mortimer, a cruise ship built for expeditions to the most remote places on earth. The first passenger cruise ship to feature the revolutionary Ulstein X-BOW®, allowing the ship to cross polar oceans more comfortably and efficiently. A Greg Mortimer polar cruise is designed for rugged remote areas. The ship accommodates roughly 126 passengers per voyage, and with an expansive observation deck, the ship brings you closer to the incredible secluded environment the Arctic and Antarctic have to offer. With unsurpassed environmental credentials and a perfect base camp for faraway adventures, the Greg Mortimer has redefined polar expedition cruising for the future.
The Greg Mortimer offers passengers a wide array of cabin choices to suit any comfort level. Whether you are embarking on a solo polar adventure or bringing along the entire family, the Greg Mortimer cruise ship will happily accommodate your needs. Each en suite cabin features great amenities like a room-controlled thermostat, a safe, plenty of closet space, a 42’’ flat-screen TV, and much more. You won’t need to compromise comfort on your Arctic or Antarctic cruise.
Preserving and protecting the fragile Arctic and Antarctic environments is one of the most important values aboard a Greg Mortimer polar cruise and is reflected in many features aboard the ship. The Greg Mortimer is proud to be one of the lowest polluting ships in the world due to its high fuel-efficiency and a streamlined design delivering an 80% reduction in emissions. The Greg Mortimer also uses a virtual anchor thanks to GPS and steering technology. This significantly minimizes damage to the sea floor usually caused by regular anchors.
The Greg Mortimer was built for expedition cruising. With its fleet of 15 zodiacs, you’ll venture through small riverbeds inaccessible by larger ships, and you’ll get a closer look at the impressive Arctic and Antarctic flora and fauna. A Greg Mortimer polar cruise also offers a range of optional activities lead by expert guides from kayaking, diving, climbing, and ski touring. The Greg Mortimer is an adventure ship constructed to support all expedition experiences so each passenger can maximize their time on board. The Greg Mortimer is also equipped with a Mudroom- the launchpad for all polar cruise expeditions. Guests will have access to locker rooms with drying areas to hang up your gear in between each polar excursion. During your free time, make sure to visit one of the Greg Mortimer’s one of a kind hydraulic viewing platforms, which give you unobstructed viewing of passing wildlife.
The Greg Mortimer expedition team is eager to educate all of its guests about the history, culture, biology, and climate change of the polar regions. On your Arctic or Antarctic cruise, you’ll meet naturalists, and local specialists in the state-of-the-art lecture theater for educational and highly entertaining presentations. The Greg Mortimer cruise ship library is also a great place to relax, pick up a good book, play board games, view and organize your trip photos, or just stare out the floor-to-ceiling windows. For even more relaxation, visit the wellness center aboard the cruise ship, equipped with a gym, sauna and professional massage therapists. There are also two outdoor jacuzzis on the top deck with incredible views of the polar horizons.

This was the trip of a lifetime. Our final continent. Once we arrived in Punta Arenas, we were met at the airport by Paula from Aurora who took us to hotel. My baggage was lost by airline and she gave me a coat to wear immediately. Shout out to Paula and Michael for tracking my Luggage. Once we transferred to Antarctica we were met by ship crew with drinks and smiles. The week was packed with excursions and amazing information presented by scientists in different aspects of expertise. The ship staff was friendly, personable making the trip an amazing adventure. The fly and cruise is the way to go!

Great line for cruising to Antarctica. Expedition staff were wonderful and very approachable. Ship staff were great. I'm always amazed at how quickly they remember your name and what you like. Rooms and public areas were well maintained and always clean. Activities and landings/excursions were well organized. The small ship meant everyone got to land every time and minimal time was spent waiting for your turn. (Copied from Google)

I had a once in a lifetime experience on the "Antarctic Explorer" expedition. The Greg Mortimer ship was great, our balcony room was super comfortable, and the staff was so accommodating. Aurora Expeditions crew took care of every little detail, allowing us to fully enjoy every moment of our time in Antarctica. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. (Copied from Google)

Fantastic experience starting with a voyage through the straights of Magellan and a quick trip through Drakes Passage. Best part of the trip was getting up in the morning to see what new sites and adventures were in store for the day. Definitely got out to see more unique locations in Antarctica than I would expect. The expedition staff was a delight to be around and helped get us out to see whales, seals, penguins and fantastic displays of ice. Hotel staff catered to our needs and made us feel welcome, comfortable and somewhat pampered. Always met with a smile and cheerful greeting any time. (copied from Google)

Our trip to south of the Antarctic Circle on the Greg Mortimer was just wonderful. The ship was of a really high quality and well thought out. Each cabin had more sockets, at sensible heights than we needed. The staff were all friendly and professional and we felt that they couldn't do enough for us, yet weren't over weaning. The expedition team under Flo's leadership could not have given us a better experience. They were all so knowledgeable and able to answer any and all questions that we had. We were sea kayaking. Kayaking through brash ice is an experience we will never forget. The team, especially Dan and Frank kept us safe and gave us a wonderful time on the water. The food and drink we of a high standard and, despite having to serve us using a buffet system it all worked efficiently. There was plenty of fresh vegetables every day. Aurora have put in place really effective Covid protocols that made us feel safe. We had thought this was 'the trip of a lifetime' but are now left wondering if we might persuade the bank manager to let us go again. Thank you Aurora (Copied from Google)
