The M/S Sjøveien, meaning "Seaway," is a historic expedition ship with a rich legacy and modern comforts. Polartours is proud to introduce this vessel that combines classic maritime elegance with modern expedition capabilities. Built in Bergen in 1964 for the Norwegian government, M/S Sjøveien served as a training ship for mariners and later fulfilling roles for the Norwegian Coast Guard. After extensive refurbishments, she embarked on a new journey in 2017 as an exclusive passenger ship in Svalbard. With her beautiful wooden decks, classic details, and plenty of deck space, M/S Sjøveien offers a unique blend of nostalgia and luxury. The highlight of the deck experience is undoubtedly the wood-fired hot tub, where guests can unwind while taking in the breathtaking Arctic scenery.

M/S Sjøveien offers an intimate and personalized Arctic adventure, accommodating just 12 passengers across eight outside cabins, each with en-suite facilities. The lower deck houses four cozy twin cabins with portholes, while the main deck features two larger twin cabins with windows and a superior cabin with a double bed. The upper deck boasts a spacious superior cabin with panoramic windows. The dining area on the main deck is where guests are treated to delicious meals, and the lounge area provides a perfect spot to relax with a warm drink or listen to engaging talks from the expedition guides. The international crew is dedicated to ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with the bridge open for visitors to explore.

Equipped with two Zodiacs and led by two experienced expedition guides, M/S Sjøveien is perfectly suited for exploring the remote and stunning landscapes of Svalbard. Whether you’re venturing out on a Zodiac excursion or enjoying the view from the ship, every moment on board is designed to immerse you in the Arctic’s pristine beauty. The ship’s small size and attentive crew ensure that your journey is not only comfortable but also deeply personalized, making it an expedition to remember.

Rembrandt van Rijn

Sailing vessel *Rembrandt Van Rijn* has a wonderful history. She was originally built as a herring lugger in 1947. In 1994 she was rebuilt as a three-masted passenger sailing schooner in the Netherlands. She then sailed in Spitsbergen between 1994 and 1996 and in the Galápagos from 1998 to 2001. She then underwent another complete rebuild and interior refurbishment before her relaunch in 2011. Her communication and navigation equipment has always been updated according to the latest SOLAS regulations. She is a well-traveled and beautiful intimate arctic cruise vessel. An arctic cruise aboard *Rembrandt* is an intimate experience, with a maximum of 33 passengers accommodated in 16 cabins. She has one Triple Private cabin (with shower and toilet and porthole), six Twin Private Inside cabins (with shower and toilet, no porthole), and nine Twin Private cabins (with shower, toilet, and porthole). Her experienced crew of 12 includes 2 expert guides, and they will ensure your arctic sailing adventure is memorable. *Rembrandt* Arctic cruises are active and immersive. Every day there will be excursions on land, weather, and ice permitting. You’ll spend between three and six hours per day exploring untracked areas. Because the Arctic weather and sea and ice conditions are variable, the program of excursions will be adjusted to maximize your chance of wildlife and landscape encounters. Can there be anything more adventurous than exploring the wild Arctic under sail?
