Large Ships Antarctica & Arctic Cruises
Our selection of the best polar expeditions on board larger ships
Why choose a large ship for your cruise to Antarctica or the Arctic?
Larger ships may offer more comfort. More space on the ships allows for more spacious cabins. Larger ships also tend to have multiple decks with viewing areas, so you can enjoy the view from different parts of the ship. Larger ships often have more amenities on board, such as restaurants, jacuzzis, saunas, gyms, and more. For this reason, it may be a good idea to choose a larger ship for a longer cruise. Please note that our largest ships accommodate up to 270 guests, which is still a small number in the world of cruise ships. However, a ship with a capacity for more than 300 guests would not be able to give you a rich experience of the polar regions.

Sustainable Tourism in the Polar Regions
With over 30 dedicated expedition cruise vessels regularly sailing their waters, the polar regions have become an increasingly popular destination for Arctic and Antarctic exploration cruise ships. However, these pristine and far-flung regions are far from being tourist hotspots, and expedition vessel owners and operators are united in keeping the places they visit unspoiled. We only recommend Arctic and Antarctic cruise operators who are members of IAATO - the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators. Their code of conduct and practices ensure that every care is taken to ensure the pristine landscapes you will encounter remain that way.
