Like some of the birds we see in the Arctic and Antarctica, our m/v Sea Spirit is migratory and follows the sun, northbound in the summer and southbound in the winter, always ready for spontaneous discoveries — a pod of whales, a family of polar bears or a glaciated mountain vista. She is highly maneuverable and capable of navigating the narrow fjords of East Greenland and entering the small bays of Spitsbergen. In 2017, she was renovated to offer a unique mixture of adventure and comfort for our sophisticated travelers. Sea Spirit has been retrofitted with Rolls Royce Zero Speed Stabilizers that allow safe, stable navigation through icy waters. The operational benefits of the new retractable fin stabilizers include reducing the ship's roll when anchored, moored, or drifting, reducing dynamic drag when deployed while underway, and eliminating vibration and noise.

Onboard, we create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all our guests. They are united by one goal — to have a memorable wilderness experience and to become real polar adventurers. We believe that first-hand travel to such places makes one an ambassador for conservation, and helps strengthen our resolve to protect these natural environments for future generations.

Wonderful service from staff at all level right from top to ground work staff!!! Room service in terms of upkeeping and daily maintenance is 5 stars! The downside is n terms of wildlife adventure or glaciers is not as exciting as I expected as I signed up doing alot of homework watching videos of artic but the reality is abit below my expectation as we dont see alot of seals or whales sighting, maybe that is artic as is too huge. My previous trips to Alaska, Iceland and Greenland were much better in terms of wildlife and glaciers (esp Greenland)

Sea Spirit is a classically styled ship with so much character! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, I instantly felt at home. The cabins are lovely - incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean. I loved the size of the ship, small enough to feel like an expedition but large enough to have lots of spaces to enjoy. The expedition team were brilliant - so enthusiastic and passionate about the wildlife and sharing the Arctic with us. Everything was well organised and I was so impressed with the effort of the expedition team and the crew to provide the best experience possible. Amazing food every day with so much choice! It was an incredible trip!

Staff and crew were wonderful! The food on board was excellent as was the service! The destinations Orkney, Shetland, the Faroes, etc. were all that was promised and the views and the wildlife were breathtaking! I will say that the key word for this entire experience is "expedition." Itineraries can and do change based on many factors, especially the weather. You will be getting into and out of Zodiacs for many of the stops and being in "reasonably good condition" is a good idea as hiking is an integral part of getting to prime locations. So, be flexible and have an explorer's heart and you won't be disappointed! Bottom line....... I would do it again!

Every member of the Sea Spirit team from the expedition team to the hospitality and room staff were absolutely exceptional. The on shore experiences were frequent and so interactive and amazing. The team worked overtime behind the scenes to make sure we had several amazing experiences every single day. The lectures on board were incredibly informative. The food was 5 star as was the service. We could not find a single fault with this amazing trip with its excellent crew.

All aspects of this trip were phenomenal! Everyone was constantly on their A-Game and we had a great crew and staff. Expedition team members were fun and knowledgeable while taking care of us and making sure we were safe. We saw incredible things and had an amazing time. I cannot recommend them enough. We look forward to returning for another expedition soon!

We had wonderful experience on the ship the expedition teams the in house team were very good. This is my second trip there is one thing which can be a bit better. We came to make memories but it would have been nicer if family pics are also clicked as we get those pics professionally. The usb stick that we got appeared like documentary. In our previous trip our photographer did a fabulous job of capturing all members . We do feel like seeing usb stick again and again. My husband being a good photographer himself captured us beautifully. But he was missing most of times . This little aspect will definitely work wonders for all guests participating in this journey which is definitely out of the world. Kind regards Rashmie Kapoor

Welcome aboard the Magellan Explorer, an ultra-modern expedition cruise ship built for the Antarctic. An Antarctic trip aboard the Magellan Explorer is unlike the rest. Instead of boarding your cruise ship right away and spending long days crossing the Drake Passage to get to the Antarctica, you’ll take a two-hour plane ride from Punta Arenas straight to the continent itself. This flight will save you time, and you’ll be able to head straight to the Antarctic action. A Magellan Explorer is a pioneer air-cruise is designed for adventure and with your comfort in mind. To manage environmental impact, the Antarctic Treaty limits the numbers of visitors on shore to maximum 100 at one time. A Magellan Explorer air-cruise comfortably accommodates only 73 guests so everyone can go ashore at the same time. This means that you will spend more time ashore, rather than waiting your turn to disembark the ship. The Magellan Explorer cruise ship offers 7 different categories of accommodation, including dedicated single cabins. All cabins except for the Porthole cabins have a private balcony for your enjoyment. All cabins feature a wardrobe, an individually controlled heating system, a private bathroom, a sitting area, and heated floors. Guests are welcome to take part in the polar discussions in the presentation room with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment. The polar cruise ship also offers a library, a boutique gym built by the professionals at Anytime Fitness, a sauna, and a medial clinic. The Magellan Explorer comes equipped with a fleet of 10 Zodiac boats, perfectly suited for an Antarctic adventure and a closer look at the flora and fauna. A Magellan Explorer air-cruise is the most modern way to explore the amazing Antarctic region. Time-saving, comfortable, and intimate, this air-cruise rethinks polar exploration for those who have a limited amount of travel time.
